The Sleddog Centre in Valdidentro
The husky house in Alta Valtellina
An elite structure in Europe
Accommodation and sled dog training centre
The Husky Village in Valdidentro is one of the best facilities in the world for sled dogs. It is located in Valtellina at an altitude of just under 2000 metres, a short distance from Bormio and Livigno, in a mountain context that offers huskies an ideal climate with low temperatures, snow for most of the year and plenty of space to run and train in the most uncontaminated nature.
Established at the beginning of the 2000s and in continual expansion, the structure today houses around 60 highly selected sled dogs, coming from Alaska and Scandinavia or born directly here: to each of them, thanks to a daily commitment and immense passion, we offer the guarantee of a lasting and happy life, together with their peers, with the possibility of running in the snow according to their nature.
From dog sledding in Alaska to the Husky Village in Valtellina
Lorenzo Tilli, a life dedicated to huskies
Husky Village was born from the experience and passion of Lorenzo Tilli. Originally from Milan and always a lover of animals and nature, he was struck by the charm and elegance of the first Siberian Huskies brought to Italy and at the end of the 80s he took part in a dog sled ride in the Alps: an extraordinary experience that would change his life.
Lorenzo decides to spend a year in Alaska to deepen his knowledge and is lucky enough to join the staff of Joe Redington Sr, founder of the Iditarod, the most important sleddog race in the world. Back in Italy, he starts looking for the best location in the Alps to bring sleddog in Europe: he finds it in Valdidentro, where at almost 2000 meters of altitude there are the best conditions for sled dogs. Here he starts in 2002, with the first 6 Alaskan Huskies brought from Alaska, the activity of musher, which today offers the unique possibility to do dog sledding in Valtellina.

Accommodation for huskies
Spaces and facilities for animal welfare
Husky Village is a centre for sled dogs designed to offer the highest level of wellbeing to the huskies that live there, on a total surface area of 1000 square metres. When they're not running with sleds, the animals are housed inside numerous boxes, both covered and dry, in small groups to allow them to socialize and larger than those required by law. The entire facility complies with all applicable regulations and is in possession of the necessary municipal and ASL authorizations.
At the Husky Village the sled dogs are looked after 24 hours a day by specialised and trained staff and every detail - from feeding to the temperature inside the boxes - is carefully looked after to offer the best possible living conditions to young and old huskies, who can spend their old age together with their pack mates.
For repairs and maintenance of sleds
The wood lab
Before becoming a professional musher, the founder of the Husky Village worked with wood in his restoration workshop. For this reason, Lorenzo has set up a carpentry workshop inside the structure, which allows him to personally perform maintenance and repair work on the sleds, which he built himself. In this place the experience of the craftsman and the spirit of the musher developed in the extreme conditions of Alaska are combined: maximum efficiency and timeliness to intervene in any situation, find a solution to any unforeseen event and always ensure the highest safety conditions during the sledding excursions.
